About the site
madaboutbeethoven.com -- the unique Beethoven website
madaboutbeethoven.com went live in early 2000. My trilogy on
Beethoven, The Last Master, was published, and increasingly I found
myself being invited to give talks about Beethoven around Britain.
I wanted more people to know about my books, and my talks - but also
I wanted to share not only my enthusiasm for Beethoven, but the encyclopedic
knowledge about his life that I amassed in nearly a decade of research.
Hence madaboutbeethoven.com. There are thousands of pages on
Beethoven on the web, but none that gives you the unique insight
madaboutbeethoven.com is able to offer.
My wife Bonnie and I have travelled to practically every location
Beethoven knew that is still there to be seen, and my own photographs of
these sites - not to mention my treasured map of Vienna published
in 1827 - give madaboutbeethoven.com its uniqueness.
I have received hundreds of emails from at least 29 countries
worldwide. The site has been visited by readers from over 40 countries.
The overwhelming number of emails I have received have been - I am
delighted to say - to praise the site.
A year after it was born, madaboutbeethoven underwent a complete
overhaul and redesign. It is now more comprehensive and easier to
navigate than ever.
You can also read about me on MadaboutBeethoven - how my passion
for Beethoven's music came about - as well as details of my published
trilogy on his life, The Last Master. You can also order the books
direct through Amazon.
As a result of the publication of my books, I now travel Britain
giving talks about Beethoven, accompanied by musicians. You will find
details of my talks venues on the site.
John is currently working on a new book about the life of Beethoven.
Regrettably for the time being the facility to e-mail him with comment and
questions is suspended to avoid the disappointment of not receiving a
reply. We hope this does not inconvenience you.
