- venues and dates -

John has given his talk on Beethoven’s life, “The Last Master”, in around 200 venues across the UK. He has also given the talk at an international symposium in Beethoven’s home city, Vienna.

Thousands of people have now experienced a Beethoven they never knew, through John’s highly acclaimed talk. Beethoven, his life, his loves, his music. John is accompanied by the Bernard Lanskey trio.

In 2006 he launched two new talks.

“The Last Waltz” chronicles the life of Johann Strauss junior, the Waltz King. Behind those instantly memorable and glorious melodies, there lay family jealousies and tension.

And while the people of Vienna waltzed to the music of Strauss, the Imperial Royal Family suffered tragedy after tragedy, as the Habsburg Empire spiralled towards the First World War and annihilation.

John is accompanied by the Bernard Lanskey ensemble and special guest soprano.

“One More Shot, Bob” chronicles John’s career as a television correspondent and anchor.

John takes you behind the scenes to give you an insight into the crazy and always exciting world of television news.

He uses his personal collection of slides to take you on an unforgettable journey around the world.
